This guide includes South Korean official guidance. Emergency numbers, shelters and procedures differ by country. Follow local authorities and emergency services.
First, check this
During shaking, protect your head and body instead of rushing outside.
While the ground is shaking
- Indoors, drop down, take cover under a sturdy table, protect your head and neck, and hold on until the shaking stops.
- Outside, move away from buildings, power lines and falling objects. In a car, stop safely away from buildings, power lines and overpasses.
After the shaking
- Check for injuries and do not re-enter dangerous buildings. Watch for aftershocks and follow emergency alerts and official guidance.
